Have you stopped and looked at your website lately? Is the information that you have posted on your website up to date? What people fail to realize or have possibly forgotten is that search engines do not view a website in its entirety. Search engines only see web pages. This means that every page has to be ready to engage your visitors no matter where they land on your website. Search engine results can put a visitor on any page of your site that they have indexed or "spidered".
You should have your website ready so that you engage your visitors to pick up the phone and call, submit their info or make a purchase no matter where they land on your site. It is really important to have these aspects in place. Think about it this way; is your website operating like the scruffy sales clerk in the corner behind a counter where the customer has to ring a bell to get him to pay some attention to them when they walk in? Or is your website functioning as the person at the front door with a smile on his face eagerly asking every potential customer, “How may I help you today?”
In summary, I see people spending a great deal of time on social media and link building. This is not going to be an investment that will pay off because their website has been neglected since day one. If you are unsure about your website, you should speak with a professional to make sure you are not just wasting your time and money. Let’s not forget your Time = Money
