Twitter Follow Button
June 7th Twitter announced on its blog, the release of a new “Follow” button said to be the service’s version of the Facebook “Like” button for pages. We are a little curious as to what took so long?

image courtsey of TwitterBefore the new “Follow” button, your audience had to click a link leading directly to your Twitter profile and then click follow or if chose to use them there are third-party application available to allow users to “follow” you. The new button allows your audience to follow you directly from your website or blog.
The question is of course is this a big deal? I am inclined to say definitely not ground-breaking but we will see.
The good news is, you can easily create and add the code to your website or blog and present an easier, additional option for your audience to follow you.

It’s pretty self-explanatory, just head on over to http://twitter.com/followbutton and add it to your website or blog sidebar. I am curious as to when Twitter will buttons to widgets, interesting stuff all the same as the twitterverse continues to evolve.
